CHILDREN put their walking shoes on in aid of their young disabled friends.
Between 70 and 100 children came out for a good cause at Coate Water for a sponsored walk around the lake.
They were walking to raise funds for the maintenance of a Variety Club minibus, which was donated to the Robert le Kyng disabled children unit.
After the walk all the children, which included some disabled youngsters, were treated to a barbecue.
Jackie Dawson, whose fiveyearold son Charlie suffers from a rare muscle disorder, was one of the organisers of the walk on behalf of Westcott Scope.
She said: The school offers such a great service and it has done wonders for my Charlie, who has come on in leaps and bounds."
