IT would appear that our council leaders are more concerned with their images rather than the reasons for them being elected, ie, to serve all the community and address people's problems rather than their own ego trips again for their own personal status.

I am referring to the recent discussions concerning the possibility of city status and universities, etc.

However, there is never a mention of the situation surrounding the bus station, prostitution in the central area, breakfast club and the filthy state of the area created by their policies, ie roads in need of repair.

One must assume that these areas of concern are beneath them as stadia seem to be of more importance and even the visiting of stadia in other parts of the country.

So, can we expect to see a photograph of our leader and deputy leader taking a positive view of what goes on at the bus station, evenings in Manchester Road, the breakfast club and the filthy state of the area and afterwards perhaps they could visit Birmingham and Bristol, whichhave legislated to combat these issues and the unsavoury blights on the community. Or will the answer be the same as the one given on Gorse Hill I see no problems!
