THE dream of a university in Swindon has hit a stumbling block.
Leading councillors have put the plan on ice at a meeting of the ratification committee until officers can come up with more detailed figures.
The committee had been asked to ratify cabinet recommendations to pay for half of the £1.2m refurbishment and asbestos removal works needed at Oakfield School to turn it into a campus of the University of Bath in Swindon.
The officers have now been given until a specially organised cabinet meeting on Wednesday, July 12, to come up with a financial breakdown of what it will cost Swindon Council in the short term and the long term.
