THIEVES escaped with hundreds of pounds' worth of electrical equipment from builders' vans parked in Pewsey and Easton Royal.
The thefts from vans left in Pewsey on Thursday evening (June 29) were discovered when their drivers went to them on Friday morning.
Two vans which belong to the Pewsey contractor Jeff Mann, and which he had left in the Co-op car park, were broken into.
The thieves took nothing from one vehicle but got away with tools valued at £850 from the other.
They also forced their way into a Ford Transit van in the Co-op car park and removed a CD player and microphone valued together at £800.
Two electric drills, one worth £800 and the other valued at £500, were taken when a Mercedes Vito van parked in the centre of the village was broken into the same night. The thieves caused £200 worth of damage to the vehicle.
The thieves also forced their way into an Escort van parked in Harris Lane in Easton Royal and stole carpenter's tools including a chop saw, jig saw, planer, drill and circular saw worth a total of £1,300.
PC Stuart Bishop said: If anyone saw suspicious activity around the vans or a suspicious vehicle in the area we would like to hear from them. Ring him on 01672 562222.
