A REPORT into the effect of traffic calming on Beech Avenue is to be published this month.
Swindon Council commissioned the study after residents claimed measures designed for safety including chicanes and road narrowing measures were forcing drivers to the side of the road and causing them to collide with parked cars.
In March, some 200 residents signed a petition and a public meeting was held in the hope the layout of the Rodbourne Cheney road could be altered.
Next Thursday, July 13, members of North Central Area Panel will hear the findings of a report into the road layout.
Campaigner Adrian Mears, 37, of Beach Avenue, said: We hope the report says that they will take out the traffic calming. I am sure they will bring up costs, but accidents can't keep going on.
