AN arson attack on a car in West Street, Warminster, caused more than £7,000 of damage.
A Chrysler Neon, which was parked in the street, was engulfed in flames after an arsonist lit a petrol-soaked rag, which was stuffed in a glass bottle, and placed it under the car's rear wheel arch.
Firefighters from Warminster managed to contain the blaze and prevent an explosion, on Friday, June 30.
Station officer Chris Trimby said: We were called to the car fire in the new estate at around 2am.
There were suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire and we found evidence suggesting it was an arson attack.
Police are investigating the attack and are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Warminster police station on (01985) 847000.
