WOOTTON Bassett resource centre has received £100 to replace ruined library books.
Nearly 200 popular books were destroyed in a flood after a plumbing malfunction at the resource centre at the school on May 1.
We were very pleased to receive three brand new books which someone sent anonymously, postmarked London, said centre manager Eric Shenton.
But for weeks, that was the only help we had.
Now, my faith in Wootton Bassett has been restored by the Lions Club, who have given us a cheque for £100. This is a marvellous donation; we are very grateful.
Anyone who could donate books, or spend a couple of hours a week on routine library duties is asked to contact Mr Shenton on (01793) 850160.
