WHEN it comes to getting out of Division Two, then Matt Hewlett should be able to give you some advice.

The midfielder has already tasted promotion success with Bristol City and is confident he is in for a repeat dosage with his new club.

This club was in the Premier League not so long ago and, although they got relegated last year, I am sure we can bounce straight back up, he said. Colin Todd is a man of great experience and I think the club is really looking to go forward now. Things are looking good.

He was a key part of the City side which romped to promotion with Watford two seasons ago.

I know just how difficult it is going to be to earn promotion, he said. I think you really need to be consistent. At the end of the season it is the most consistent side in the league which ends up with the prize.

There is a great atmosphere here and a really positive one. Everybody is looking forward to the season and I feel very confident.

Hewlett was seen by many as a player with a great future in the game as he rose up through the Ashton Gate ranks.

While his career has stuttered in recent years, he believes the switch to the County Ground is something which can spark his return to top form.

I am a midfielder who likes to get forward and pass the ball about and I can get up and back down the middle, he said. I hope that I can get the opportunity for first team football here with Swindon. Anything above that will be great for me.

I was at Bristol City for eight years and had some good times there, but now I am looking forward to a new challenge here at Swindon and I believe that we can really go on and have a good campaign.
