PEOPLE in Bradford on Avon are being warned flyposting in its historic streets is illegal.
The town council has been concerned at the growing number of posters attached to lamp posts and telegraph poles in the conservation area.
It has been investigating what can be done about the problem and will consider the matter in more detail in future.
Cllr Roger Andrews said: Our main concern was the number of small posters in the town. It wasn't just for one thing, it was for two or three.
"If it is illegal, we need to educate the population and let organisations know. They have to know it's illegal and they are liable for prosecution.
