POLICE are warning the public to be wary of leaving back doors open to burglars as the weather gets warmer.
This follows a spate of burglaries in the Corsham and Chippenham area on Thursday night (July 6).
Thieves were able to walk into a house in Glebe Way and one in Tropnell Close in Corsham, and made off with cash, mobile phones and clothing. Police suspect the two burglaries were connected.
Sargeant Phil Taylor of Chippenham police, said: They probably tried several doors in the area.
On the same night a burglar broke into a kitchen at Lackham College through a window and made off with cash.
He must have found some keys and used them to open two vending machines and took between £30 and £50, said Sgt Taylor.
A thief also made off with a green Raleigh mountain bike from a house in Chequers Hill, Corsham.
Anyone with any information should contact Chippenham police on (01249) 654422.
