OBJECTIONS against new homes in the centre of Melksham have strengthened, despite the developer revising the plan.
Wainhomes wants to build 17 two and three-bedroom houses off Union Street in Melksham.
Residents met and invited the developer to the meeting. Brian Hunt, who has lived in Union Street for 25 years, is worried about the impact of the new homes on his house and on the flood plain.
He said: It would be fair to say that residents are not against development, but this plan is not very good. Some of the homes are right on the flood plain.
The revised plans have also been discussed by Melksham Town Council.
Cllr Sarah Cardy said: We objected before, I can see no changes to the plan, so we must object again.
Part of the plan is to demolish a two-storey building in Union Street and two timber-clad sheds.
