THE countdown to North Wiltshire's biggest event to celebrate the dawning of the new Millennium has begun.
Former model and Blue Peter presenter Tim Vincent kicks off three days of free fun in Chippenham's Monkton Park and organisers are putting the finishing touches to two years of planning and preparation.
Festival 2000, which is being sponsored by Hygrade and the Gazette and Herald, will provide a chance for north Wiltshire residents to get together and enjoy entertainment for all the family.
The event, which opens on July 21 and runs until July 23, will also give dozens of local businesses a chance to reach a wider audience and network with each other.
Highlights of the event include two free concert nights, themed arenas featuring demonstrations and displays, fairground rides, children's entertainment, sport demonstrations and firework displays.
