POLICE are hunting two men who tricked Swindon pensioners out of hundreds of pounds of savings.

The conmen targeted two pensioners in their 80s and a 74-year-old woman, in Penhill, Liden and Rodbourne.

In all three burglaries, the men claimed to be water company workers and asked to enter pensioners' houses to turn off the water supply.

One of the men took the money while the other distracted the occupiers.

They made off with £40 from the first house in Milston Avenue, Penhill, and £200 from a house in Liden.

From the third, in Manton Street, Rodbourne, they stole what the police described as a substantial sum.

The first thief is described as white, in his 50s and around 5ft 6in tall. He is of medium build, with a thin, tanned, face and thick black moustache.

The other man was also white, in his late 20s, with short brown wavy hair, a stocky build and a tanned complexion.

He was also well below 6ft tall and wore a dark coloured polo neck jumper.

Like the other, he wore dirty jeans.
