A DOLLS' house that was built by two unemployed men has been raffled for the Prospect Hospice.

The men live in Stonham House, a housing association home with eight male occupants between the ages of 18 and 60.

Kim Chadwick, project manager at Stonham House, said: "The two men were asked to renovate old dolls' houses given to us as a favour. They did two and the quality was very good. They then decided they wanted to do one for charity."

The pair, who have asked to remain anonymous, applied for a grant from the Co-op Community Care Scheme, and were given £300 to build and furnish a dolls' house. Kim said: "All the residents in the home had a chance to get involved and it gave them a chance to learn new skills and was an interesting hobby."

The dolls' house was displayed in Prospect Hospice's charity shops before it was raffled.

The raffle raised £1,600 and 25 per cent of the proceeds were given to the hospice in Wroughton. The remainder is being used to fund similar projects at the house, to raise money for other charities.
