ARE YOU game for a laugh? Then perhaps you can provide a fun-filled dog called Jester with a home in time for Christmas.

Swindon Animal Sanctuary is appealing for help in re-homing the 10-month-old bundle of fun, whose high energy levels can sometimes be off-putting for prospective new owners.

The sanctuary has been trying to re-house Jester, a mongrel with fox terrier blood, for almost three months.

But every time a prospective owner calls to see him, his natural friendliness and enthusiasm get the better of him.

"He puts people off because he's so energetic," said animal sanctuary chairman Kate Rayner.

"He really zings around and when people come to see him, he's so excited, he does it even more."

Jester is currently living with foster "parent'' Les Pike in central Swindon, but Mrs Rayner said he would thrive in a home with some extra space, older children, and another dog to calm him down.

"He was given to us by a member of the public who was living in a flat, which was worse than anything for him," Mrs Rayner said.

"She couldn't cope with him but he's perfectly suitable for somebody who's got a bit of space to run in.

"He's a bit busy, but he's good a good demeanour and he's a lovely dog."

Mrs Rayner said she would like to see Jester re-homed before the Christmas holidays.

Anyone interested in becoming Jester's new owner should telephone Mrs Rayner on Swindon 850341, Mollie on 820462, or Heather on 348351.
