This week the family of an elderly man who died in a nursing home in Calne are trying to come to terms with the fact he died in pain because the care he received was sadly lacking.
The story will have sent alarm bells ringing for many people with elderly relatives living in care homes. Most, of course, do a wonderful job and staff do their very best to make sure those in their care are well looked after. But those responsible for monitoring homes must be vigilant.
