MEMBERS of the Marlborough Penguins Swimming Club arriving for their lessons at the leisure centre on Monday found themselves being serenaded.
The music came from members of the Preshute Primary and St Peter's School accordion bands who joined together to play a selection of music for Children in Need, raising more than £80.
Both accordion bands are taught by Marilyn Mason from the Kennet Accordion Orchestra, who was their conductor on Monday.
Mrs Mason said: "They played a selection of easy listening music as the young swimmers arrived and everyone seemed to enjoy it."
It was the second time the accordionists, who are aged between six and ten, had played together. In July they put on a concert in the Wesley Hall.
The Kennet Accordion Orchestra had a successful trip to the Southern Area festival held at Wimborne.
They competed in the open section playing an arrangement of the Rakoczy Overture and taking first place with a 95 per cent mark.
The orchestra will be playing at the John O'Gaunt School in Hungerford on Saturday at 7.30pm, to help raise money for a Christmas lunch for pensioners in the town.
