PLEASE find below a copy of the letter we sent to D A Fothergill (Letters November 8) in reply to his letter headed Families Need Help.

Yes we need help, we need help and support to get justice for the people who died needlessly due to Major Stibbe's actions.

Sympathy and uninformed comments do not help actions do.

We thank the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald for the very clear and honest coverage it has given these tragic events to date.

To D Fothergill:

Our family read with interest your letter printed in the Gazette and Herald dated November 8 .

It bears saying that this person was convicted of dangerous driving at the scene of an accident in which three people died, one of which was our son.

As for speculation as who else may have faced a charge, there is no doubt that, had the driver of the car in which my son was passenger, survived he also would have been charged for dangerous driving.

This would have been clear to you had you sat through the trial as we did.

It would also have been clear to you if you were there when the judge himself said that Stibbe lied under oath, nine witness statements clearly put the blame in his court.

As for class consciousness, it all depends on which category you yourself fall into.
