Planning officers have a duty to insist on the best when new developments are planned for Swindon.
They have certainly done that with the Phoenix Gate development proposed for Fleming Way.
Now it appears a compromise has finally been found.
The new development may not be perfect, but it is a vast improvement on the concrete blocks currently on the site.
It is time to move on and start building work.
Phoenix Way will enhance the town centre and bring new life and vitality into the area.
