PURTON had two players sent off in the second half as they slumped to their third successive league defeat

Purton started well, taking the lead after five minutes when a Chris Lang header took a slight deflection and finished up in the net.

The home side pushed forward and Purton goalkeeper Luke Alford made a great diving save to protect his side's lead.

However he could do nothing to stop Damien Edwards scoring midway through the half after some loose marking.

In a disastrous second half for the Red House side Billy Davies set up Edwards to score a second four minutes into the half.

Two minutes later Purton's Jamie Richards was sent off, followed by Alan Crumbie 15 minutes later.

Purton's nine men held on until the closing minutes when Davies once again did the spade work for Edwards to complete his hat-trick.

MALMESBURY Vics gained a welcome boost as they gained a rare victory.

Malmesbury moved out of the bottom two after beating fellow strugglers Letcombe 5-2 thanks to three goals from Sandell and one each from Bates and Hillier.
