THE fast, the furious and the flashy showed off their modified motors and mean machines at Castle Combe racetrack on Saturday April 27.

Drivers from 60 car clubs across the south west put their cars and their skills to the test on the track at the first of this year's four Triple C action days.

"This is a great day for drivers and is renowned for its amazing variety of cars," said managing director Howard Strawford.

The cars on show included Alfa Romeos, Lotus Sevens, Ford XRs and the Datsun Z class.

The cars have all been modified by enthusiasts to improve their looks and performance. These improvements range from modified engines and alloy wheels to rally trims.

The drivers compared notes on the technical tweaks and bodywork beautifications they had done.

Car conversion specialists were also at the track showing off their latest machines and trade stands stocked all the latest go faster goodies.

Drivers also got the chance to try their cars on the famous Castle Combe track.
