SMITH & Williamson, the independent financial services group with a branch in Salisbury, has opened an office in Southampton.
The new office specialises in tax, audit, investigations, corporate finance and corporate recovery.
Chris Appleton, managing partner of the offices in Southampton and Salisbury, which has a 120-strong team, said: "Although several accountancy firms seem to be reducing their regional and local presence, we see major growth opportunities around the south coast.
"Our corporate business in Salisbury has expanded significantly, so an office in Southampton, which is the prime business centre in the region, is a logical step."
