CRICKET ROUND-UP: WILTSHIRE play their second warm up match of this season against Hampshire 2nd XI at Southampton today and on Sunday play their first match in the 38 County Cup against the Somerset Cricket Board X1 at Chippenham (11am start).

Wiltshire will be captained in both matches by Russell Rowe in the absence of the injured Steve Perrin.

Perrin, who has a foot injury picked up while playing football for Forest Green Rovers, hopes to be fit for the second match in the 38 County Cup on May 19 away to Cornwall.

Wiltshire bring in the Knowle off spinner Jamie Rendall for the match against Hampshire for his debut.

Apart from Perrin and Richard Bedbrook, last season's leading wicket taker who suffered an injury playing in Australia in the winter and who hopes to be fit by the middle of June, Wiltshire have been able to select from a full strength squad for the match against the Somerset Cricket Board.

Frocester v Chippenham

FORMER Gloucestershire professional Nick Trainor blasted Chippenham out of the National Knockout Cup on Sunday.

Trainor made 135 at better than a run a ball to lead Frocester to a daunting total of 228 fros even in their 43 overs. His innings included 18 fours and five sixes.

Chippenham never looked like matching the asking rate, with stand-in skipper Jason Searle top scoring with 37 as they closed on 161 for ninen.

Old Bristolians-Westbury v Corsham

CORSHAM'S first venture in the National Knockout Cup ended in a 84 run defeat in the first round.

Corsham restricted the home side to 177 for eight in their 40 overs, with former Wiltshire captain Phil Thorn top scoring with 78 and Jamie Rowe returing Corsham's best bowling figures of two for 15 from eight overs.

Corsham suffered an immediate setback when newcomer Mark Coxon was run out with only a single on the board before Neil Shardlow and Steve Copland shared a fifity partnership for the second wicket.

After their dismissals Corsham collapsed to 113 all out, with with Mark Hadrill and Phil Dennett the only other batsmen to reach double figures.
