MID-WILTSHIRE SUNDAY LEAGUE: JB LIONS ensured a third placed finish with a 7-1 win over nine-man Netheravon in their final game of the season.

The visitors began the game two players short and paid the penalty ten minutes before the interval when Mick Rogers opened the scoring with the first of his five goals.

Five minutes later Rogers struck again, this time collecting Al Caven's ball from the left and firing home. Rogers then sealed his hat-trick on the stroke of half time after linking up with Alex McGlone.

Rogers took his tally to four when he slotted home Simon Gaines' cross on 55 minutes, before Gaines himself got in on the act when he fired home from 18 yards.

McGlone made it six with 20 minutes remaining, before Rogers rounded off the scoring for the hosts with his fifth goal. Netheravon scored a late consolation after beating the offside trap.

The league will hold two finals on Sunday at Devizes Town's Nursteed Road.

The Roundway Cup final between Trowbridge Wanderers and JB Lions kicks off at 10.30am, while Selectabook will go in search of their third trophy of the season when they take on Devizes Snooker Club in the final of the Tamura Hinchley Shield at 2pm. Admission for both games is free.
