SCREWRIX LEAGUE ROUND UP: WESTBURY United gave themselves a glimmer of hope in their bid to escape the drop from the Premier Division with a 4-0 victory over Yeovil Town Reserves on Saturday 27 April.

Derek Graham's side went into last night's clash at home to Bristol Manor Farm seven points behind their visitors with three games remaining as a result of gaining their fifth victory of the campaign.

Two goals from Toby Colebourne and singles from Stewart Pennistone and Wayne Wheeler put a youthful Yeovil side to the sword, but Derek Graham's men still have plenty to do if they are to move off the bottom of the league.

They play host to local rivals Melksham Town tomorrow night and travel to Taunton Town on Bank Holiday Monday knowing even maximum points from the two games might not be enough to save them from the drop into the First Division.

Melksham temporarily halted Bideford's championship charge at The Conigre on Saturday after a magnificent volley from Nick Tiley gave the home side a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Mike Southgate equalised on 35 minutes for the league leaders, who moved to within three points of the title after Saturday's result. Melksham face Wiltshire neighbours Westbury tomorrow and travel to Yeovil Town Reserves for their final game of the season on Monday, kick-off 1pm.

Warminster concluded their dismal season with a surprise point at promoted Bath City Reserves on Saturday.

Their 1-1 draw took their points tally to the season to nine and only the Screwfix Direct League management committee can now save them from the prospect of county league football next term. Andy Crabtree's side mustered their first point of 2002 on Wednesday night when they drew 2-2 with local rivals Street.
