A FOURTH person has been arrested in connection with the alleged fraud on the TV programme Who Wants to be a Millionaire, said to involve a man from Easterton, near Devizes.

Last week Metropolitan police interviewed a 35-year-old man, who has not been named, over claims that he was in conspiracy with three others.

Major Charles Ingram, 38, and his wife Diana, 37, of High Street, Easterton were arrested and interviewed in November along with Tecwen Whittock, 51, also a contestant on the show.

No-one has yet been charged but police are investigating allegations of conspiring to defraud Celador Productions, the makers of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire of £1 million.

The winning cheque was withheld from Mr Ingram when the programme was recorded in September. There were suggestions coughing from the audience was a clue to the correct answer.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said the latest suspect was arrested in connection with an allegation of conspiracy to defraud.

He has been bailed until June. The other suspects are due to answer police bail at the end of May.

Mr and Mrs Ingram are also being investigated about an alleged insurance fraud connected to a break-in at their home last year.

A spokesman from Wiltshire police said there were no further developments in that case.
