THREE girls from All Cannings Primary School will join hundreds of other children from across the country this Sunday in the BBC Blue Peter bikeathon in aid of Leukaemia Research.
Hannah Butcher and Bryony Hutchings, 11, and Catherine Dillon, 10, will join other children from Wiltshire at Coate Water Country Park, near Swindon, to cycle round the circular route at the beauty spot.
Sponsorship forms have been circulating around the school and the village for several weeks and each girl is hoping to have raised more than £100 each.
All Cannings headteacher Julia Roberts said: "The girls have organised this all by themselves. One of them is a Blue Peter fan and recruited her two friends to join in with her. It is a very worthwhile cause and all the staff and pupils have been very supportive."
It is the second time the TV programme has arranged a bikeathon. Last May 16,000 children cycling at 70 locations throughout the UK raised more than £300,000 for charity.
