PARENTS of pupils at St Peter's Primary School in Devizes are hoping to raise a lot of money for school funds by raffling a Manchester United shirt signed by England captain David Beckham, which could be worth up to £5,000.
The coveted shirt was obtained by Rick Hewitt, a former Newcastle United player, whose five-year-old son, Reece, goes to the school.
PTA member Carol Wells, said 10,000 tickets have been printed.
She said: "We thought of auctioning it but we wanted to involve as many people as possible. Manchester United only releases a very few of these items each year."
The £1 tickets are on sale at the Spar shop, Bath Road, and at Scholars in the Little Brittox. They will also be sold at the Devizes Lions May Fair on Monday and at Safeway supermarket on Thursday May 16.
