CROP circle maker Matthew Williams, who was the first to be prosecuted for creating formations, is to give a talk on how and why he and his colleagues constructed the controversial designs.
Mr Williams, of Bishops Cannings, was fined £100 with £40 costs at Kennet Magistrates' Court in Devizes in November 2000 after pleading guilty to a charge of criminal damage to a field of wheat at West Overton the previous August.
Since the case he has pledged that he will not make any more crop circles without a landowner's consent. He said: "I imagine there are a few farmers out there who have some questions to ask." The talk at Devizes Town Hall on May 27 at 6.30pm, will include videos, and will be open to anyone interested in crop circles.
