WOOLLEY & Wallis smashed records when jewellery auctioned in their Salisbury sale rooms on Thursday made £287,000.
It was the highest total ever achieved in a jewellery sale at the Castle Street fine art sale rooms, with four items alone making £114,000.
"It exceeded all expectations. Our vendors were delighted," said Woolley & Wallis jewellery specialist Shoshana Hobbs.
The fact that many of the pieces were consigned by private vendors, many of them local, and were fresh to the market had provoked tremendous interest in the sale, she said.
"At one point during the sale, we had 11 phones on the go," she said.
