Ref: Hidden in a hedgerow, Evening Advertiser Wed Mar 13, 2002: I congratulate you on the excellent two page spread covering the wartime airfield, RAF Watch-field, and featuring memories of flying instructor Flt Lt Fred Guilmant.

The newspaper was sent to me by friends resident in the village of Wroughton. On reference to my flying log book, an entry on September 9, 1944 shows that I flew under the instruction of Flt Lt Guilmant. I wrote to Fred at his home address in Southampton and received a most interesting letter in reply and I am sure more letters will criss-cross in the months ahead.

Thank you kindly for printing a story about RAF Watchfield while there are still folk around to share their memories.
