Yesterday on the radio I heard an interview with the daughter of a Czech Roma.
She arrived a year ago with no English and now spoke better than many shop assistants in British shops, or in some TV soaps what can't pronounce 'th' except as an 'f' as in 'fir-y five' or 'wivout'.
Asylum seekers are more likely to raise standards rather than drag them down.
