YOUTH RUGBY: TWO schools will have Twickenham in their sights on Saturday when they line up in the last 48 of the Daily Telegraph and Armed Forces Cup in the south east.

Devizes will represent Wiltshire in the under 13s event, while Sheldon under 12s will be looking to reach the famous stadium after narrowly missing out on a place last May.

The 48 schools will be spilt into six pools of eight teams, with the under 12s group matches taking place at Staines RFC and the under 13s event being held at Richmond.

Each of the group winners will go through to the quarter finals and, should either of the local sides make it past the last eight, they will have the chance to line up at Twickenham in the semi-final at the annual challenge match between the Army and the Navy.

Sheldon and Hardenhuish drew in the final of the county under 13s event and, as both have competed in the later stages of the competition before, decided to hand their place to third-placed Devizes.

Devizes will stay overnight in Hounslow tomorrow and PE teacher Nick Passenger is looking forward to the competition at Richmond RFC.

"It is going to be tough, but I think we have a chance of progressing to Twickenham. The players have just got to believe in themselves."
