SCREWFIX DIRECT LEAGUE: WESTBURY United manager Derek Graham was a happy man after his side recorded their biggest win of the season on Saturday with a 4-0 trouncing of Yeovil Town Reserves.

Strike duo Wayne Wheeler and Toby Colbourne were both on the mark, and Graham was particularly pleased with the return to form of his front players.

He said: "Toby has three in two games now and that was Wayne Wheeler's first goal since he came back from suspension.

"We were creating chances all day long and it was good for the confidence of the strikers that they got themselves on the scoresheet.

"Wayne's goal celebration, which is a double somersault, is worth the entrance money alone."

Graham feels his young side are now beginning to click, although their improved form has probably come too late to save them from the drop.

He said: "We played really well on Saturday, as we have done for a few weeks. The difference on Saturday was that we put our chances away, although we might have had even more.

"The season is probably finishing too early for us. They go out now and play to a system and aren't making the silly mistakes any more. The problem is it has taken eight months for it to happen."

United dominated a game of few chances and took the lead after just four minutes when Colbourne tapped in at the far post following a deep free kick by Ben Sammutt.

The second goal was also from a free kick, this time Will Filson's accurate ball from the halfway line was coolly controlled and finished by Stuart Pennistone.

The second half was scrappy and interrupted by several injuries but United scored twice with the only real action. In the 65th minute Wheeler latched onto a long ball from Colbourne, beat the keeper and slotted into the empty net.

The fourth goal came on 80 minutes with Colbourne tapping in his second of the game following a great move involving James Dowd, Loic Herouard, Craig Doughty and Wheeler.

Westbury take on local rivals Melksham Town at Meadow Lane tonight and conclude their season at Taunton Town on Monday.
