NURSES at Bath's Royal United Hospital special baby care unit have said a special thank you to Wiltshire Times readers.
A month ago a grateful Trowbridge man, James Burrell, whose grandson's life was saved at the unit, arranged a TV and video gift for the special unit.
He had noticed there was little to keep older children occupied in the visitors' room while families were visiting the hospital.
Mr Burrell said: "Our grandson Kieron had severe breathing problems and we thought we were going to lose him at one point. Thanks to the skills of the staff at the baby unit his life was saved."
He had approached Knees of Trowbridge and it donated a combination TV and video which was presented to the hospital.
But the unit didn't have any children's videos to play and we appealed for readers to donate tapes.
This week we took a box with over 50 tapes to the hospital, to the delight of the staff.
Unit nurse Sarah Porter said: "We say a big thank you to readers of the Wiltshire Times for the donations of the children's videos. They will make a big difference for parents coping with bored children."
