BARGAIN hunters seeking their next car may like to know about a 'showroom' with a difference . . .
'Fantastic cars at knockdown prices' is the promise made by Tony Antoniou, manager of the Universal Salvage auction site at Westbury.
High-quality vehicles which have been stolen but since recovered, are being offered at substantial discounts on the standard used-car prices in a new service offered by the auction company, on the West Wiltshire Trading Estate.
The cars' original owners were paid out by their insurance companies before the stolen cars were found.
The range of vehicles includes BMWs and Mercedes as well as regular favourites from Ford and Vauxhall.
Mr Antoniou said: "If they're not in perfect condition, many have only superficial scratches or missing keys."
As an example, the company quotes a Y-reg VW Golf 1.4 S, valued by Glass's Guide at £10,670, but now on sale for £8,495.
