REFRIGERATION refurbishment firm Bond Retail Services has established a new Swindon office and taken over Wiltshire-based refrigeration company Adams Installation.

It is hoped the new branch, in Dunbeath Road on the Elgin Industrial Estate, will be operational by the end of the month and slash response times.

The company, which repairs and refurbishes retail refrigeration units, believes its Swindon base will provide it with a faster and more efficient response for on-site cabinet repairs and refits to retailers in Wales, West Midlands and South West.

At present, services are concentrated at the company's headquarters in Sheerness, Kent, a factor that has hampered response times to customers in this area.

Managing director Chris Woolett said: "This is yet another staging post on our continued expansion.

"We have been aware for some time that we have been under-serving our customer base in the South West.

"We had built a close working relationship with Adams Installation and their skills slotted neatly into our remit.

"Buying the company has allowed us to close the lop in terms of our geographical coverage and inherit an established and proven pool of expertise at the same time."

Bond will retain the services of Adams' existing team of specialist system engineers and cabinet installers.

Adams' managing director, Lance Adams will also be kept on for a three-month consultancy period.

In addition the purchase of Adams equips Bond with a new gas leak detection service.

The service, a speciality of Adams, provides retailers with computerised leak diagnosis and warning systems to alert them to costly and potentially dangerous piping leaks.
