WIMBLEDON are scheduled to visit the County Ground for a pre-season friendly.

But which Dons side will it be?

The decision to switch the club's base to Milton Keynes has outraged a large section of the Wimbledon faithful.

Moves are now in place to form a new Wimbledon, based at the club's original Plough Lane base.

It would be a case of coming full circle. Back to the non-league scene from which they emerged.

It is all a far cry from the 1980s when the Crazy Gang rocked football to its foundations.

Just how many fans will make the trip to Milton Keynes on a fortnightly basis?

With other established clubs dotted around the town, I doubt whether the good folk of Milton Keynes will turn out in force to back the Dons.

I suspect the Wimbledon Independent Supporters' Association's plan will gather momentum in the weeks and months ahead.

GOOD luck to the Save Our Shakers group who have taken over the running of Bury Football Club.

Although I don't wish to tempt fate, it seems as though the future may be a little brighter for the Third Division side.

Although neither club is completely out of the woods yet, it seems only a matter of weeks ago that the national press had both Swindon and Bury dead and buried (pardon the pun).

It just shows that the days of fans watching helplessly are gone.

The fat lady can well and truly keep her mouth shut at both the County Ground and Gigg Lane.
