LUTHER Frost-Barnes wrote a thank you letter to Corsham Rotary Club this week after it donated £600 to the Gazette and Herald's appeal to fund a pioneering treatment for his cerebral palsy.

It is almost enough money to pay for a full week's therapy for Luther, of Cricketts Lane, Chippenham, at the Advance Centre in East Grinstead, West Sussex.

The club heard about Luther from Corinna Morrissey of Lemon Grove Entertainment in Corsham, who booked acts for the club's recent cabaret show at the town hall.

Ms Morrissey is a friend of his Luther's mum, Lorraine,

Half the proceeds from the cabaret show went to Luther and the other half to local good causes.

Rotarian Sam Van Heningen, who runs Theodora's florist in Corsham, said: "We organise several major fundraising events every year and it gives us a chance to donate a lot of money to a certain thing.

"We heard about Luther and his appeal from Corinna and we thought it sounded like a very good cause.

"I met Luther last week and he's great.

"From what I've heard he has made a lot of progress from doing these exercises."

To date, the Gazette's appeal has raised more than £5,000 for Luther's treatment.

Mrs Frost-Barnes, 40, said: "This is nearly enough money to pay for almost a whole session at Advance which is fantastic.

"It's great that the appeal has allowed Luther to carry on with his treatment which is showing amazing results and changes in him."

Luther's next session at Advance starts on June 18.
