A would-be thief forced his way into Boscombe Down recreation club, but escaped empty-handed after causing £200-worth of damage.
He forced open double doors, smashed laminated glass, pulled open a door and got into the club office.
It is believed he was disturbed as he fled via the main doors after only seconds in the building.
Police have des-cribed him as wearing a white T-shirt, an unzipped sports jacket, trainers and sports trousers.
The incident happened at about 1am on May 27.
