POLICE want to speak to anyone who saw a disturbance in the High Street at about 4.30pm last Tuesday which ended up with a window at the Arrivals babycare shop being smashed.

Juliette and Russell Plank who opened the business a few months ago had to close for a day while they cleared up the broken glass which covered prams, baby equipment and soft toys displayed inside the window.

Mr Plank said many of the soft toys had to be discarded because they were covered with razor sharp shards of glass.

PC Paul Emery said it was believed that about half a dozen young men were involved in an altercation on the 'Bulge' on the top side of the High Street by Arrivals and the White Horse Bookshop.

It's believed that a brick was thrown and caused the damage to the Arrivals window.

PC Emery said: "Apparently there were quite a lot of people standing round watching what was going on. I would like to speak to who saw the disturbance."

PC Emery can be contacted at Marlborough police station, 01672 512311.
