A NEW art exhibition features images of Stonehenge, Avebury, Silbury Hill and other ancient sites surrounding the Swindon area.
Many Miles, Many Megaliths is the name of an exhibition of recent drawings and etchings by David Gunning.
The artist planned the 50 pieces as a set, illustrating the wealth and variety of prehistoric monuments. Each piece is small because Mr Gunning wanted to show that the power of the monuments is effective even in such a space.
The exhibition runs at the Wiltshire Heritage Museum in Long Street, Devizes until July 13.
Curator Paul Robinson said: "David Gunning hopes that his work will encourage people to experience and enjoy the monuments as much as he has, and that this will encourage their care and protection.
"Although massive in size and made of stone, they are nevertheless fragile and continually threatened, and need our concern and care ."
Copies of the pieces are available for purchase by visitors.
The museum can be contacted on (01380) 727369, or by e-mail on wanhs@wiltshireheritage.org.uk.
