TWO SWINDON men accused of conspiring to steal state-of-the-art computer equipment from Motorola have been bailed by a court.

Sajid Khan, 22, from Manchester Road, and Arfan Khan, 24, from Ferndale Road, are among nine men accused of trying to steal valuable Sun Microsystems com- puters from the firm's West Swindon office on Friday night.

Sajid Khan is accused of conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit burglary at the Frankland Road plant.

Arfan Khan, a shop worker, is accused of conspiracy to commit robbery on the same night.

Sajid Khan was remanded on bail on condition that he live at his home address, observes a curfew between 7pm and 7am, and has no contact with his co-accused.

Arfan Khan agreed to abide by the same conditions, but also agreed to report to Swin-don police station twice weekly, and not to apply for travel documents.

The two men appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on Monday, along with seven other men from London, who are also accused of being involved in the alleged conspiracy.

They include Sun Micro-systems IT worker Kevin Anthony Leslie, 31, of Stratford in East London, who is charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglaries at different locations in the UK.

Jimmy Manuwa, 22, of Mitcham, and Gbenga Bio-baku, 27, also appeared in court, charged with cons-piracy to commit robbery, and conspiracy to commit burglary.

Martin Miller, 22, from Herne Hill, unemployed Andrew Gill, 30, from Brockley, Andrew Chiory, 27, and Wayne Spencer, 28, also appeared to answer one charge each of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Mr Martin was remanded on conditional bail while no bail application was made on behalf of Mr Biobaku, Mr Spencer and Mr Chiory.

They were remanded in custody until June 10, when the case will resume at Swindon Crown Court, while magistrates refused applications for bail from Mr Manuwa, Mr Leslie and Mr Gill, and remanded them in custody until that date.
