THE letter from Richard Pierce in reply to my letter and Mr Davies' could have been better placed than opposite the article on Page 9 headlined "Government for Regions backed."
In particular Coun Allnatt's contribution in which he stated that he felt there was great value in replacing the current three-tier system with a two-tier system.
This rather shot down the first part of Mr Pierce's argument.
Coun Allnatt went on to say that "this approach was described in a balanced way by the Bishop of Exeter on the Radio Four Today programme on the day of Mr Prescott's announcement."
Can Coun Allnatt tell us who is the chairman of the unelected Regional Assembly at Exeter?
I am led to believe it is the Bishop of Exeter. Am I wrong Coun Allnatt?
Finally what freedom will an assembly member from Cornwall give to me and my family, which my North Wiltshire District Councillor, who lives in my ward will not?
