I MUST take issue with part of Coun Kevin Small's letter (EA May 29). He states that tradition and protocol dictate that flying our national flag should be reserved for special occasions, like the Golden Jubilee. What has royalty got to do with being patriotic?
Many countries without royalty, USA in particular, are very patriotic. I will not be celebrating the Jubilee, but I love my country and if I owned or was responsible for a building with a flagpole, I would be proud to fly our flag permanently.
