MOTOR mechanic Simon Bishop has become the youngest parish councillor in Box at the age of 20.
Mr Bishop, who works at Manor Garage in High Street, was co-opted onto the council last Thursday. He lives at Box Hill.
Marine engineer, Barry Simons, who lives at Kingsdown, was also co-opted to fill one of the two vacant seats.
Third nomination, Sean Plant, of Valens Terrace, was unsuccessful. Village stalwart, Derek Lovell, was re-elected as council chairman.
He was first elected to the post in 1995. Valerie Richardson was elected vice-chairman, replacing Trina Croser, who is also a former council chairman.
