CORSHAM firm Leafield Engineering has landed part of a £400m Ministry of Defence order for a new anti-tank missile system.
The company will supply advanced electromechanical sub-assemblies, including miniature detonating cords. Around 40 people will work on the contract.
The missile system will be used by the Royal Marines, Army Infantry and the RAF Regiment. It is a joint British-Swedish project, and the Swedish Army will also use the Next Generation Light Anti-Armour Weapon (NLAW).
Bob Dyke, Leafield Engineering managing director, said: "Leafield is proud to be playing a part in the production of this missile.
"It will mean the opportunity to exploit new technologies which will ensure a long-term future on this and similar programmes."
