WESTBURY remain bottom of the Bristol and Somerset Division after an away defeat against their fellow strugglers.

Westbury made four changes from the last outing two weeks ago, with Neil Dolman, Andy Carroll, Ian Pothecary and Steve Edwards replacing the unavailable John Delina, Dave Callaway, Garrick Hopkins and Peter Gizzie.

Congresbury won the toss and after some soul searching they decided to bat first.

They made steady progress before Westbury made a four-wicket burst when Congresbury had reached 36.

Congresbury lost four wickets for eight runs in this burst after Ian Pothecary took two wickets in his first over.

There was a good partnership of 61 between Brean (39) and Dewar (26) who took the total from 44 to 105 when Dewar was dismissed.

Phil Carroll then took centre stage by taking five wickets for 12 runs in nine overs as Congresbury were eventually all out for 180.

Westbury began their reply with a steady partnership of 36 between Martin Dolman and Adam Pothecary.

But once they were dismissed the Westbury batting collapsed and they were all out for 78.

They were undone by the bowling of Burton, who finished with four for 31, and M Brooks, who ended with figures of three for 23.

This was another disappointing display by the Westbury team against a Congresbury side also struggling at the bottom of the table.

Westbury are home to Bridgwater tomorrow.
