POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an assault on a skateboarder in Weymouth Street, Warminster on Tuesday, June 4.

A man's glasses were broken in the assault, and he suffered bruising and swelling to the right side of his face.

Three males attacked him in an alleyway at about 11pm.

They are described as white, 16 to 20 years old, 5ft 9ins tall and of slim build. Two were wearing black, and one was wearing a light top, possibly a beige jacket.

PC Jeffrey Rice said: "One of those males pushed him off his skateboard as he skated past, but the injured person had done nothing and carried on.

"A short while later the injured party heard some footsteps running up behind and then felt a punch to the right side of his face which knocked him off his skateboard and knocked him to the ground.

"He tried to get back up but could not get up due to being dizzy."

Anyone with information should contact PC Rice on (01985) 847000.
