GREEN travel is the theme at County Hall in Trowbridge next week. Members of the public are invited to visit to find out about environmentally friendly ways to travel as part of 'green transport week'.

County council travel plan co-ordinator, Anik Bennett, said: "The use of the car has grown incredibly over the last decade.

"Green transport week aims to highlight some of the alternatives."

The council plans to lead by example and has introduced a variety of initiatives at County Hall itself, including car sharing, eco-friendly pool cars and pool bikes.

Members of the public will be able to find out about these initiatives and other ideas through a variety of displays and demonstrations.

There will also be a demonstration of new computer software called Carsharesoft, which the council is using to make finding a car-share partner quick and easy.

The A2B project, launched in May, will also feature at the event.

The project won funding to improve the range of travel choices for people living in Bradford on Avon.

The displays and demonstrations will be open every day in the main foyer from 12pm to 2pm.
